2. Foot Preparation: Soak or Waterless Care

However, a soak is not part of every pedicure.
At Laque Nail Bar, our Dry Pedicure and Dry Gel Pedicure skip the soak. These services include nail shaping, cuticle care, callus care, massage, and a polish finish, as described on our menu.
If you prefer a soaking experience, our Herbal Chinese Pedicure at Laque includes warm water infused with Chinese herbal tea bags, detailed nail care, and massage with organic oils.
Whichever option you choose, the tools and treatment area should be clean. You can always ask how equipment is cleaned and disinfected between clients.
3. Toenail Shaping and Cuticle Care
Your technician will trim your toenails if needed, then file them into a neat shape.
For services that include cuticle care, the technician will carefully tidy the area around the nail. Let them know if your skin feels sensitive or if you prefer minimal cuticle work.
Nail and cuticle care should not cause pain, burning, or bleeding. Speak up immediately if anything feels uncomfortable.
Keep in mind that a polish change is different from a full pedicure. At Laque Nail Bar, Polish Change (feet) and Gel Polish Change (feet) include trimming, filing, and polish application, but do not include cuticle care.
4. Exfoliation and Callus Smoothing
Depending on your booking, the next step may include exfoliation and smoothing rough areas around your heels or the balls of your feet.
The aim is to reduce surface roughness—not remove every layer of protective skin.
Our Laque Pedicure includes callus removal and gentle exfoliation. Our Custom Pedicure includes extra callus care alongside other treatments.
Tell your technician if an area feels tender. Deep cracks, open wounds, suspected infections, or painful foot problems should be assessed by a healthcare professional rather than treated as a cosmetic concern.
5. Moisturizing and Massage
Many pedicures include moisturizer and a foot or lower-leg massage. This is a chance to relax while your skin receives some attention.
The massage length and additional treatments depend on the service you book. For example, our Custom Pedicure lists a 10-minute massage and paraffin wax treatment.
You can ask for lighter pressure or let your technician know if you would prefer to skip massage on a sensitive area.
6. Regular Polish or Gel Polish
After the nail care steps, your technician prepares the nail surface and applies your chosen finish.
Regular polish dries over time. Open-toe sandals are useful afterward because closed shoes can smudge polish before it has fully dried.
Gel polish is cured under a compatible UV or LED lamp during the appointment. Once properly cured, it does not need the same air-drying time as regular polish.
If you already have gel on your toes, mention it when booking. Removal may require extra appointment time and an additional fee.
